SISU is dual-licensed by the Connecticut Department of Public Health for mental health and for substance use — licenses 859 and 711. That means you are not sent across town when both are in play. Your treatment plan covers what is actually going on.

Schedule

Three to five days a week, about three hours per session. Morning and evening groups so you can keep working or studying.

Format

Group therapy, individual sessions, and family involvement where it helps. Every group is led by a licensed clinician.

Location

In person at 228 Saugatuck Ave, Suite 2E in Westport, with a virtual option if you cannot travel to us regularly.

You speak with our admissions team directly. The conversation is confidential and there is no obligation to enroll.

A licensed clinician reviews your history and current needs to determine whether this level of care is appropriate for you.

We verify your benefits, put any expected costs in writing, and place you in a group that fits your schedule.

How is this different from weekly therapy?

Frequency and structure. Weekly therapy is one hour a week with one person. An IOP is nine to fifteen hours a week with a group, a clinician, and a psychiatric provider who can manage medication.

Will my insurance cover this?

We work with most major commercial insurance plans. Call and we will run a verification of benefits before you commit to anything, so you know what your plan covers and what it does not.

Who will know I am in treatment?

No one you do not tell. We are bound by HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2. We do not contact employers, family, or anyone else without your written consent.
