What it is

One hour a week means your clinician hears about Tuesday on the following Monday. Three to five sessions a week means you bring it in while it is still happening. That is the whole argument for this level of care, and it is a good one.

Common questions

Questions people ask before starting

Questions people ask before starting

Questions people ask before starting

How is this different from weekly therapy?

Frequency and structure. Weekly therapy is one hour a week with one person. An IOP is nine to fifteen hours a week with a group, a clinician, and a psychiatric provider who can manage medication.

Can I keep working while I do this?

Yes — that is what an IOP is for. Groups run mornings and evenings, three to five days a week. Most of our clients keep their job or stay in school the whole time.

How long does the program last?

Most people are with us six to twelve weeks. Your clinician sets the length with you based on how you are doing, not on a fixed package.
